We head to High Point, NC to face a 3-1, 3rd place in the conference Panther team who is fresh off a 4 point win hosting UNCA. An interesting trend that Radford has going is shutting down the oppositions SG and we will need that to continue against preseason 1st teamer Nick Barbour. Since it's a home game I figure they will stay in it for a bit but they don't have nearly enough defensively to slow us down.
Radford 81 High Point 70

Tossing around the idea of driving down for this one, haven't been to Battery Chucker, NC in a while. better already have your tickets. looks like they play in a shoe box. January 6, 2010 The High Point University men's basketball game against Radford on Saturday, Jan. 9, is sold out to the general public. Fans without tickets may line up starting at 6 p.m. to purchase any tickets that become available. The game is sponsored by High Point Bank. High Point University has won three games in a row and is now 7-6 overall and 3-1 in the Big South. HPU is led in scoring by sophomore Nick Barbour (18.8 ppg) and senior Eugene Harris (12.8 ppg). The Panthers have gotten increased production over the past four games from senior center Cruz Daniels, who is averaging 13.3 points, 9.8 rebounds and 3.5 blocks over that span. Radford was the league's preseason No. 1 and features the Big South Preseason Player of the Year, Art Parakhouski, who leads the league in both scoring (23.8 ppg) and rebounding (12.8 rpg). The Highlanders are 8-5 overall and 4-0 in Big South games. The halftime entertainment for Saturday's game will be provided by the Academy of Dance & Performing Arts as well as High Point University's Junior Cheerleaders. The Wesleyan Academy Band will perform alongside the HPU Pep Band throughout the game.

yikes for them. looking at their past games I can't decide if their best was a 4 pt win over asheville at home or a 23 pt loss to wake forest on the road. i don't see how we have any trouble here

High point plays in a lawless thunderdome that might 2000 if they impose weight restrictions on the fans. Glad to see their fans are coming on to see us in action. The target is clearly on our backs.

Opted to work anyway, but a sell out at HPU isn't but 1500 or so.
Been there 3 or 4 times already you could spit on the bench from the top row of the side bleachers.
Will always remember winning in double OT down there, Logan and I went to that one, the same season Whit hit that 60 footer. How effing sweet.

These are the type games that scare me to death. The games are played in what will be an intimate gym in front of a raucous crowd. We need to not overlook these guys, I'm telling you!

Hey, does anyone know how long it normally takes to convert tonight's game to being "archived"? I'm unable to watch it live, but would like to view it later tonight without knowing the results. They should invent Tivo for the PC!!
Thanks!

I would really like to make it to this game, it is sold out, however they say if you show up at 6 they will sell tickets that come available. Their students dont start classes until Tuesday, I have a hard time believing they will have many students at the game. I am wondering if the extra tickets they sell will be those of the missing students? Anyone think I should risk it? it is a 2 hour drive to High Point.
