yea thats a really good idea on several points. get some of your classes out of the way so you can go a little easier during basketball season, get familiar with your teammates, and get familiar with college basketball training.

no clue....i believe it took about a week last year for RU to release a press release about spring signings.
if you read the last b-radhoops though, it sounded like they havent even finished scouting everyone yet...they were still watching tapes. The NLI signing deadline is May 19th, so i guess they have until then.
I dont think JuCo transfers have to sign a NLI though so there might not be a deadline for them....didnt J Rob join really late, like in August?

here are couple vids that masse is in the youtube clip is actually a slideshow, but it kind of gives you an idea of how masse plays. he can play on the perimeter on offense, shoots 3's, will drive to the hole, and also has a mid range game. i think he will be a better version of what Laz was this year. the other vid honestly is pretty much pointless haha. theres no sound and it focuses on the other team. you can see masse running the floor and playing d, so i thought i would post it for the heck of it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=3zdKdY04pLEwww.mefeedia.com/watch/29144482

well its official now, i have some stuff about edwards on my laptop at home that i will put up later. www.radfordathletics.com/news/2010/4/28/MBB_0428104453.aspxMEN'S BASKETBALL ADDS ABELE AND EDWARDS DURING LATE SIGNING PERIOD 4/28/2010 1:42:49 PM RADFORD, Va. – Radford head men’s basketball coach Brad Greenberg recently announced that Martins Abele (Saldus, Latvia / Oak Hill Academy) and Jonathan Edwards (Queens, N.Y. / Tyler Junior College (Texas)) have signed National Letters of Intent to join the Highlanders in 2010-11. In addition to Abele and Edwards, Jareal Smith (Savannah, Ga. / Johnson High School) and Masse Doumbe (Le Mans, France / Polk State College) signed with Radford during the early signing period. Martins Abele 7-1, 290, C Saldus, Latvia/Oak Hill Academy What They’re Saying About Abele… “Martins is a developing center with great size. He has made steady progress the last two seasons and has the potential to become an important player for us at Radford. This past season he was a member of one of the nation’s best high school teams – Coach Steve Smith’s Oak Hill Academy Warriors – and helped them to a 29-4 overall record and No. 6 Ranking in the Country. As a junior he played at the Blue Ridge School in St. George, Va. for Coach Bill Ramsey. Those experiences, the training he received from Mareks Bajars, his youth coach in Latvia and his desire to improve, give him a strong foundation we hope to build on. We are excited to have him join our team.” – Radford Head Coach Brad Greenberg “Martins is a great kid with great potential and a tremendous work ethic. He will be a solid addition to Coach Greenberg’s program at Radford University.” – AAU Coach Boo Williams Jonathan Edwards 6-8, 205, F Queens, N.Y./Life Center Academy/Tyler Junior College (Tyler, Texas) Accomplishments (Life Center Academy) Rated one of the Top-20 players in the state of New Jersey as a senior … Selected to the Eastern Invitational Top-20 All-Star squad … A two-time team captain … Averaged a combined 17.5 points, 8 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2 blocks per game in two seasons with the Eagles. Accomplishments (Tyler Junior College) Averaged 8.5 points and 5.0 rebounds in two seasons ... Helped lead the Apache to a combined two-year record of 42-17 and a berth in the 2009 Region XIV semifinals. What They’re Saying About Edwards… “Jonathan Edwards is a skilled inside-outside forward with a good feel for the game. He handles the ball very well for a 6-8 forward. He can drive the ball, is a solid passer and has a nice touch around the basket. He has the quickness to defend the perimeter and the length to guard inside. We were looking for an experienced frontcourt player to compliment our young returning frontcourt players and fellow junior college signee Masse Doumbe. Jonathan has played the last two years at Tyler Junior College in Tyler, Texas, for Coach Mike Marquis on a very good team for a very good coach. He’s a fellow New Yorker, so I am especially happy to bring a player to Radford who appreciates my accent.” – Radford Head Coach Brad Greenberg “Jonathan is a terrific person and a very good player. He fell in love with Coach Greenberg and the guys on the team. Not only will this program be a good fit for him, he’ll be a great addition to Radford University.” – Tyler Junior College Head Coach Mike Marquis

ok Jon Edwards....it seems as if this guys upside in high school was very very high. most scouting reports say hes a power forward who can handle the ball very well for his size which opened up the possibility of him also playing SF. it seems as if he never developed an outside shot though. he was getting looks from a ton of high majors, penn st., rutgers, georgetown, indiana, seton hall just to name a few. he ended up committing to stony brook, but from what i read on one forum he didnt qualify academically which is why i assume he ended up at tyler college. last year he averaged 9 pts & 6 rebs...up from 6 pts & 5 rebs his freshman year......he also shot 47% from the free throw line last year. Im excited to see what he can do, i think our coaching staff will do a great job tapping into his undeveloped talent thats just waiting to be released. also, since he is from NYC, hopefully for claid and I that means RU will take a trip up to play Hofstra, Columbia, Fordham, or St. Johns! ha. www.njcaa.org/colleges_college_stats.cfm?sid=4&divid=0&slid=2&seasonselect=471&collegeid=1446&report_id=3138&requesttimeout=500www.recruitrecon.com/?option=com_content&task=view&id=925&Itemid=100pennstate.scout.com/a.z?s=157&p=8&c=1&nid=2634963insider.espn.go.com/ncb/recruiting/tracker/player?recruitId=42776&season=2008insider.espn.go.com/ncb/recruiting/tracker/player?recruitId=111165&season=2010&action=login&appRedirect=http://insider.espn.go.com/ncb/recruiting/tracker/player%3frecruitId%3d111165%26season%3d2010hsnewyork.scout.com/2/541251.html

The coaches must have loved what they saw to bring in another big. I can't see him playing the 3 especially since I think Masse will be a 35 min a night guy for us at that spot. I'll have him as the starting center using a healthy rotation and redshirting Abele and letting him shape up and learn the college game. The development of our bigs will be crucial to next season. If Spags, Curry, and Cerrah don't fill out we will struggle to defend the post against teams who have any offensive power down low.
