Outcome
Almost a replica of Radford's roster, Richmond's line-up is filled with young talent, if not an even less experienced roster than the Highlanders. The Spiders start four freshmen.
They play a similar style to Air Force, who gave Radford their last loss.
Richmond has taken out East Carolina (in OT) and American and Longwood by 11. They are coming off a 3-point loss to Old Dominion (who beat #8 Georgetown a few weeks back).
Richmond has allowed 70 or more points just twice in 34 games under coach Chris Mooney. With Mooney at the helm, his Spiders are 13-0 when they score 58 points or more.
Prediction
Tough to tell. It seems like both teams match-up very well and their shooting percentages are at around the same mark. Radford is no stranger to tough defenses (facing Winthrop twice a year is not an easy task) so they shouldn't be surprised with Richmond's tough D.
Radford is coming off a nice win over a Campbell team that crushed Coastal Carolina by 20 points and a win over CAA defending champs UNC Wilmington. Having Jamaal Dixon log some minutes and play an important part of the offense is pivotal. Chris Oliver will have a tough time duplicating his 29-18 performance, but expect him to have a decent follow-up.
If Radford's young guards do not get flusterated with the 'in your face defense' Richmond uses and if they can get out to an early lead, this game could be very interesting. At home though, I'll give the edge to Richmond.
