Phillip Martin is a 6-5 guard from Roanoke Catholic. He averaged 14.7 points, second on the team, and nine rebounds per game in his junior year of HS. ...quote from RUHighlanders.com.... “A great player and an even better young man, he is a versatile guard who can play either the big guard or small forward,” Samuels said. “He’s athletic and very crafty and will have an immediate impact on our team and help ease the loss of Whit Holcomb-Faye, one of our all-time best players. I put Phil in the same category as a player, his ability to score and pass will make good things happen on the court for the Highlanders.” I found a bunch of game recaps in his high school playing days. Every story I read it seems like he scores 14-20 points a night. Good to see he's 6'5/6'6 and seems pretty versatile. Seems like he hustles and is a work-a-holic. seems like this kid is going to be a fan favorite. Needs to improve on his FT shooting, but he hustles and looks like he can score from anywhere on the court.
