www.zagsblog.com/2011/08/15/summer-primetime-shootout-rundown/#more-56105Jo’el Samuel - Another 2013 transfer who will play for new St. Patrick head coach Chris Chavannes, the 6-foot-9 center is still extremely raw and skinny. However, he has a good skill set for his age and size. Thus far, Radford is the only school which has come on strong for him. Former VCU assistant Mike Jones recently got the job there and will be keeping tabs on the big man.

well its hard to tell two years from now, who knows who transfers and such. but blake will be the only senior in 2012 so i assume we would need a wing player to replace him in the 2013 class.

i guess the staff will move their concentration to 2013....heres an article on troy caupain, mjwaite mentioned him a few posts up. rivals.yahoo.com/michiganstate/basketball/recruiting/player-Troy-Caupain-132289Troy Caupain: Titan Rising Will Spencer II VirginiaPreps.com As the 2011-12 school year is now upon us, which means basketball season is not far away, one player that is sure to become a household name in the Central Region and the state of Virginia this winter is 2013 guard, Troy Caupain (Cosby/Chesterfield, Virginia). Caupain has now sprouted to 6-foot-3 and weighs in at 180 pounds. Based on being only 15 years of age and not turning 16 until November, it's conceivable to believe Caupain could add a couple inches to his frame before it is all said and done. Based on his summer play, Caupain has put himself in the conversation as one of the best all-around players in the state for 2013, based on his vast array of skills he possesses. His arsenal includes: a tight handle, outstanding rebounding ability for a guard, a great mid-range jumper, slashing ability between defenders and he can virtually get to the basket at will. With the work he has done in the weight room this offseason, Caupain now has the ability to absorb contact and finish, coupled with the athleticism now to finish strong above the rim. A testament to this was him scoring the first triple-double last season in Cosby history last season. Caupain a combo guard, has the capability to play all 3 guard positions at the high school level and projects to be a 1 or 2 when he gets to college. He played his freshman basketball for northern Virginia power, Bishop O'Connell, returned last winter to Cosby for his sophomore year. Caupain's return provided a much needed boost last season with averages of 11 ppg, 7 rpg, 6 apg for the Titans who finished 16-7 and bowed out to John Marshall in the first round of the Central Region Tournament. Caupain was usually tasked with guarding the opposing team's best player last season and he did a great job containing some of the best scorers in the Central Region. Caupain is a throwback in his approach to defense, he loves to play 'D' and wants to guard the opposing teams best player, at all times. After last basketball season, Caupain played his AAU basketball with Richmond-based Team Loaded. He had a great summer season, saving most of his best work for the crucial July period, which is when coaches see and evaluate players. He had great showings in tournaments in Myrtle Beach, West Virginia and Las Vegas. His play garnered the interest of programs such as Radford, Bucknell, Appalachian State, Presbyterian, Duquesne and Towson. It will be interesting to see if Caupain starts to garner some high-major attention moving forward, the potential is definitely there. As his ascension continues, based on his age, many wonder will Caupain re-classify? This now has become the trendy thing to now do for many prep players. After speaking with his mother, Renee Lay, she says there are no plans for her son to reclassify, but says they will keep their options open moving forward. After former Cosby standouts, Nick Coppola and Nick Gorski decided to take their talents to state private school power Benedictine, Caupain will be tasked with leading the Titans this season. He does have help returning in senior standout, Evan Orzolek, a 6-foot-4 shooter who averaged a shade over 15 ppg and a good player worth mentioning in his own right. But make no mistake about it, the keys have been handed to Caupain and the Titans success this season depends on how far he can take them.

I would have added ESPN, but it's blocked here at work. I'll add those two when I get home.

twitter.com/#!/PlayParentcoach/status/132645296453853184 @playparentcoach Lisa Long Lavon Long 2013 will take an unofficial visit to Radford this weekend. theres a bunch of vids of him on youtube. if he develops his jumper & 3pt range hell be the ideal SF at 6'6. he has no right hand at all, but he already has pretty good handles, can post up, and can take it to the hoop. hes only a junior so he has plenty of time. good thing we are on him early because i wont be surprised if he starts getting high major looks next year if he continues to grow & improves his J.

@gcrivalsglenn Glenn Elrod 2013 Eric Wortham (Eagles Landing, GA) lists SC, Clemson, UGA, Radford, Kenn St, Mercer and ECU as teams showing him the most interest. twitter.com/#!/GCRivalsGlenn/status/134070005053652992 kind of an ugly shot, nice handles though.
