more guard targets from VA, i really wish we can score one. Other than d-mitchell who walked on, I believe Bleek and McWorld have been Coach G's only VA recruits. Brian Darden PG/SG Hampton, VA Phoebus High School Height 6'2" Weight 185 lbs. Schools interested (Radford, East Carolina, Wagner, College of Charleston, UNC Asheville, Liberty, Charleston Southern) rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/recruiting/player-Brian-Darden-85396insider.espn.go.com/ncb/recruiting/tracker/player?recruitId=77931&season=2011scouthoops.scout.com/a.z?s=75&p=8&c=1&nid=3508348www.youtube.com/watch?v=pyXrNay937Qbasketballrecruiting.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1103606"...According to Daniel, Darden recently picked up his first three offers from the likes of East Carolina, Radford and Wagner. Richmond also has expressed interest. At the next level, his best asset looks to be draining shots from the outside, which he’s done at a high clip for a Phoebus team that led the region in three-pointers made three straight years, including with 197 a season ago...." Theres an article saying he now has 8 offers, but I dont have access to it. us.lrd.yahoo.com/_ylt=AtsT25mgHDgQWmIu8kt3zW_WO5B4/SIG=125hcrefq/**http%3A//basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/content.asp%3FCID=1105807Phoebus' Darden Adds Five More Offers 07/24/2010 VirginiaPreps.com Phoebus (Hampton, VA) Class of 2011 guard Brian Darden picked up his first three scholarship offers in early July and has since added five more, including from a couple schools in the Big South Conference. We got a verbal from R.J. Price.....theres an article to it, but I dont have access, virginiapreps has some vip forum where even rivals accounts cant view it, weaaaak. virginiapreps.rivals.com/barrier_noentry.asp?sid=914&script=showmsg.asp&cid=&fid=1702&tid=&mid=Price finds a home by Will Garlick Boo Williams point guard R.J Price has found a home to continue his basketball career after high school. Price, who will transfer to Atlee for his senior year, will take his talents to the Big South. Get all the details here. [details] R.J. Price Ht: 5-11 Wt: 170 Position: PG Year: Class of 2011 High School: Benedictine HS (Richmond, VA) insider.espn.go.com/ncb/recruiting/tracker/player?recruitId=80345&season=2011scouthoops.scout.com/a.z?s=75&p=8&c=1&nid=4705334January, 2009: Price is a young guard that looks to score in transition as well as in the half court. He is very aggressive and has good size and strength for his age. He has a nice pull up jumper that he likes to shoot mostly going to his left and he has the ability to rebound and push the ball and take it coast to coast. He can knock down feet set threes and will attack any defender if he sees an opening. One to watch with great upside. held his own against Oak Hill last year "........"I knew it would be a tough game coming in with them being ranked so high in the nation," said R.J. Price, who led Benedictine with a game-high 22 points. Price picked up his game in the second half to keep the Cadets within reach. "I just tried to run the show, get my team more in the game, and get everybody else shots. I tried to get myself shots, also." Price scored 17 points in the second half 12 from 3-point range. He said he felt more comfortable, but also had more opportunities in the second half. "My team, sometimes, might not get the shots they needed," Price said. "If the other team was going to leave me open, I had to take some shots and step up."........." www2.timesdispatch.com/sports/2010/feb/28/bene28_20100227-222403-ar-4867/and Held his own against Quinn Cook, a 5 star, top 50 prospect, top 5 PG, who is transferring to Oak Hill next year R.J. Price, Benedictine: Although not as big of a blip on the national radar as Moody and Davis, Price was impressive throughout the game at the offensive end. He beat Cook off the dribble a couple of times, creating opportunities for himself and his teammates. Price also hit a couple of outside jumpers and was able to score in a variety of ways. On the downside, his quickness led him to playing out of control at times. www.nbebasketball.com/w3/2009-1213/national-high-school-hoops-festival-report/

no prob, glad to help! ok heres his rivals profile, it lists us as a "soft verbal" rivals.yahoo.com/virginiapreps/basketball/recruiting/player-R.J-Price-96634and the article is finally available....... virginiapreps.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1110435Price finds a homeWill Garlick VirginiaPreps.com Senior Writer The Virginia 2011 basketball prospect class is loaded with talent and one of the states better point guards is off the market. Former Benedictine combo guard R.J Price decided the Big South was a good fit as he committed to Radford University on a basketball scholarship. Radford started tracking Price while he was as a sophomore at Benedictine. While they weren't the first school to offer (Maryland Eastern-Shore), Price said he always liked the program. "They were at the top of my list all the time," Price said. "I got comfortable with the coaches and I just think it's the best fit for me. Staying close to home was also an advantage. I've talked to (Coach Brad Greenberg) a few times and seen him at my AAU games. Hopefully, if I work hard enough, I'll step in and get some minutes right away." A summer AAU schedule playing for the Boo Williams Summer League team limited the time Price had to go visit the school. A trip to the campus is the next step. "I'm visiting probably the week before or after school starts," Price told Virginiapreps.Com. The Highlanders finished the 2009-10 season with a 19-12 record. Their season ended with a semi-final loss to Winthrop in the Big South tournament. Price is an excellent defender, has a good perimeter game, and has a football players physique which helps him penetrate the lane. He can score like a shooting guard and defend fullcourt. "I'll be playing point (at Radford) and they said they like how I handle the ball and setup the offense. They want me to be a playmaker." After playing Private school basketball since his freshman year, Price and his family decided to transfer back to public school for his senior year. He will attend Atlee High School which competes in the Capital district. Atlee had a losing record last year but the team started to play better as the season progressed. R.J said he is familiar with his new teammates. "I know all of them well," he said. "I've known them since middle school. Over the summer, we have been winning a lot of games so I'm just hoping to help the team go as far as possible." Price will use his senior year to get better and help Atlee to their first ever Region basketball appearance. "I'm working to improve consistency on my jumpshot from 3-point range," he said. "I think it will just take consistency to get better with that. Also, I believe if I can help my team to win games this year, both the team and I, will get the recognition we deserve."

I have a friend that knows RJ and said he'll be a good pick up for Radford. Also I found a little analysis on a couple of our other recruits: Brian Darden, Hampton (Va.) Phoebus, 6-2, Jr., G: Superb quickness, nifty ball handler can get to the basket when he wants; is also good shooter.. Brian Darden, PG: The Phoebus product can get buckets at the point. He's got quicks and prefers to play fast. Would like to see him develop pace to his game. Natural inclination is as a scorer. Good-looking player with mid-level projections. And the article said that the scout "likes Andrew White" 6'5 Andrew White, Thomas Dale HS of Chester, VA: White may have been one of top 3 players in the 2011 class. He is a solid 6'5 shooting guard that has some PG ball handling skills. He can attack the basket with the best of them and loves to dunk in your face. White could be a real sleeper in the 2011 class. (Shown on video clip) www.youtube.com/watch?v=S2Md7Gnj9uU 6'2 Brian Darden, Phoebus HS of Hampton, VA: I really liked his overall game as a PG. He is strong and quick, but had a deadly outside shot in his Saturday games. He can handle the ball, see the floor and make the correct pass. Darden loves attacking the basket, but you cannot leave him open because he will knock down the 3 ball. (Shown on video clip) www.youtube.com/watch?v=S2Md7Gnj9uU All this was written in October of 2009. It's from www.ncjrphenomcamp.com/review.htm if your interested.

interesting note, Andrew White played for Team USA in the Albert Schweitzer Tournament in Germany during the spring.......although its not the official 17U or 18U national US team that plays in like the world championships, its still cool nonetheless www.slamonline.com/online/blogs/absence/2010/05/how-to-make-it-as-americans/Andrew White Year: Junior Position: F Hometown: Chester, VA College: Undecided Team-given lookalike: Rajon Rondo Team-given lookalike rating: 8 of 10. White could pass for Rondo’s taller, younger brother. Bio: “Midrange out the ass,” is the way one teammate described White’s game. Indeed, White came on strong and nailed a few pretty midrange jumpers in the medal rounds after not seeing much action earlier in the tournament. White has a lot of untapped potential and room to grow both physically—he’s long and rangy–and on the court. We’re very excited for his future. Quirk: Quiet, but also excellent at making an argument. White might have a career as a lawyer after basketball.

vabigpoppa, I just watched that link about RJ, and man.. Hornsby lit it up! Too bad he didn't come to Radford.
Andrew White sounds like a stud. However, I think he's probably going to go to a high-major school rather than mid-major. He would be a HUGE pickup if he came to Radford.

The 6-foot-8 Knipp picked the Colonels after also holding offers from UTEP, Duquesne, Marshall, Radford, Tennessee Tech and James Madison. "I liked (EKU's) style of play," Knipp said. He also averaged 8.5 rebounds, 4.5 blocked shots, 4.2 assists and 2.2 steals a game. He's already scored 1,873 points during his career.
