Haha, I'm pretty sure Oliver meant that the team won't be affected by Coach Sams stepping down.
No candidates as of yet.
My top 3 (that are familiar with the program):
Doug Day -Set NCAA records for his 3-pt shooting, Day was a great basketball player for the Highs in the early 90s and from what I hear is still involved with RU athletics to some extent. He was a HUUUUUGE local favorite which is a good thing. He's also very good with guards.
Steve Robinson -Former Florida State head coach has a very good gig as the assistant coach at UNC. Bringing Robinson could bring in some big time prospects. A former player at Radford. Interesting choice, but may cost too much money.
Don Burgess -Maybe my number one choice. Great guy, good recruiter and it seems like he's a decent X's and O's guy. He played at Radford in the 90s and he knows the Big South (was assistant coach @ VMI and now High Point). Would be a tremendous candidate to increase school spirit.

wow nice list! i didnt even know steve robinson was an RU alum. I think he is #1 on my list, and it would be awesome if he could add Burgess and Day to his staff. He has a national championship under his belt has learned under Roy Williams for 12 years, crazy.
I just hope they atleast contact any of the 3 that you mentioned or someone that is atleast an alum. I think with all 3 being alums they would have a vested interest in the programs success.

Its going to take a ton of cash to land Robinson. You have to guess they'll be looking for candidates outside of the RU family as well.
