UNCA fields a very young roster, but so far they have been turning some heads in the Big South, standing at 3-1 and tied with the Highs for 2nd place. They are very well-coached as Eddie Biedenbach is one of the most well respected skippers in all of college basketball. He has done a terrific job in leading this young team, especially with the loss of 7'7 center Kenny George.
Reid Augst is a veteran who is a good scorer and has a high shooting percentage (65% in BSC games). Good news for the Highs is that UNCA's sixth man, forward John Williams, is doubtful for tonight's match-up. Reserve guard Donovan Jones is questionable as well.
Radford is playing very good basketball right now after winning back-to-back road conference games. The inside game continues to give other teams fits, while Amir Johnson, Kenny Thomas and Chris McEachin have combined to contribute mightly from the outside.
The next three of four games are at Radford so it could be a crucial stretch for the Highlanders to pick up a few wins before heading back on the road. RU will return to the Dedmon Center for their January 21 contest with league leading VMI. But they can't look ahead as they must take care of buisness tonight. Something they should be able to do.
Prediction
Radford 71
UNCA 64
