Any thoughts of saving it up....I mean I would like to keep recruiting classes fairly even and our team is going to be freaking stacked next year....I think we should focus on getting a quality big or save the scholly i agree we should use the remaining scholly for a pf/center to prevent having to start a freshman at pf/c after joey and art leave. we will have 5 seniors next year which means 5 more scholarships, so unless we get some transfers, the next 2 classes will be perfectly balanced. but remember masse doumbe is still out there, not sure if we are still getting him in the 2010 class or what

Can't teach size. Hopefully we see Doumbe next year.
Remember Stanley Pringle was in a similar situation and then decomitted and went to Penn State (he's kicking @$$ there right now).

heres some parts of a article about william fleming.....it looks like delaware is still on hagins... www.roanoke.com/sports/highschool/wb/194315Fleming closes in on Western Valley District titleThe Colonels have a one-game lead on GW with one game to play in the WVD race. By Ray Cox | The Roanoke Times ......One of the Fleming seniors who was introduced along with family members prior to the game got an unexpected surprise after the game started. Jamelle Hagins, the Colonels center, swooped in for a delicate finger-roll layup for two of his game-high 19 points 1:32 into the second half and the game was stopped to honor him for scoring his 1,000th point. He looked startled. "I had an idea that I was somewhere around there but not that close," said the 6-foot-7 post player. It was a little bit of a surprise for Colonels coach Mickey Hardy as well. "I found out that he was 12 short," Hardy said. "Jamelle had no idea. I told the guys, Jamelle's 12 short, we're going to get it right now. It's been a great career for a great young man." .... Hagins, another D-I prospect (a scout from the University of Delaware was in the gym), had a similar impact on the game on the backboards, snagging seven rebounds to help spark his team to a mammoth 38-19 advantage..... .....Fleming scored pretty much at will in the third, doubling up Glass 22-11. Hagins contributed the first seven points of the frame, starting out with a three-point play followed by two more foul shots. His next field goal topped 1,000. He and the rest of the starters played little after that. The fourth quarter was entirely given over to the reserves, who swamped the visitors 20-8 going down the stretch.....

UDel doesn't have nearly the potential RU has over the next several seasons of dancing....the talent we already have coming in at the guard position should be enough to show him RU is the place for him!

here you go fresh, 2 of your teams looking at the same kid.... www.thebaynet.com/news/index.cfm/fa/viewstory/story_ID/11293 Ryken Basketball Players Get Division 1 NodLEONARDTOWN - 12/18/2008 By Pete Hurrey National college basketball powerhouses have taken notice of St. Mary’s Ryken High School as of late; specifically, some of the best high school basketball players anywhere. This year, Ryken sports some world-class talent in the form of two Turkish students originally from Istanbul and a couple of talented local players. Since the beginning of the school year opposing coaches have trekked to Southern Maryland to scout the team and, without exception, all have come away impressed with the Knights' Turkish guards Gorkem Sonmez and Gokhan Sirin. The two are seniors and already drawing considerable college interest........ <snip> ....... Gorkem Sonmez is a top prospect at a number of Division 1 colleges. Gokham Sirin, also from Istanbul, is looking forward to a college career in the U.S. Sonmez, who is 6-5 and 225 pounds, has already had offers from Wyoming, Radford and Jacksonville, according to Ryken Coach Dave Tallman. “Miami recently came up to see him and the University of Maryland will be here today,” said Tallman during a Dec. 17 interview with TheBAYNET.com....... <snip> Coach Dave Tallman talking with University of Maryland assistant coach Robert Ehsan before practice Gorkem Sonmez is a top prospect at a number of Division 1 colleges.
