We are returning all five starters and bringing in two high quality recruits this year (w/ laz coming in next year) and I get the feeling we are ready for a run.
I'm not sure who is going to be able to play with us down low with Big Art and JLF that should be one of the top 4 5 combos in the league. If our back court could just be average (please god stop turning the ball over Amir and KT) our presence down low should win us some games.
What does everyone think?

im excited too. i still wish we had more depth on the bench, but I think the front court should be solid. eric hall improved a ton last year, JLF was great, and there are high expectations for Art. thats a lot of size for the big south.
hopefully aaron austin will be able to help Amir at PG. im hoping chris mceachin makes big improvements from his freshman year. its a big drop off after kenny and mcduffy which forces them to pretty much play the whole game.

Yeah I'm getting pretty excited for hoops season as well.
The frontcourt has become a team strength for the first time since we had Andy Savtchenko, Corey Watkins and Aaron Gill down low (even Nosa Obasuyi was okay).
But I still wouldn't sell short our guards. Martell may be the defensive player of the Big South, Kenny Thomas has improved each season and whether you like his ballhandling skills or not, any coach in the Big South would take Amir Johnson as a starting guard. Like I said, he's going to have a big year.

I hope you are right fresh...I've been a big fan of KT....gotta love a Richmond kid but the turnovers are killer!

hey fresh, any word on which recruits visited last week? unfortunately no, because of ncaa rules coaches can't comment. i'll try my best to find out. on a side note, hopefully our athletics department has a plan for the upgrades to the dedmon center, because the arena/facilities plays a role in recruiting.
