As i mentioned in Jamelle Hagins' post, this is his William Fleming teammate that Radford has also extended an offer. Rivals has this guy being recruited by some big, high major schools such as VT, Wake Forest, Kentucky, UVA, Marquette, and Cincinnati. We really dont stand a chance against those guys unless he decides he wants to stay close to home and factors in that we offered him early. Also I assume Daniels could be intrigued of the idea of playing with Hagins again in college if Radford were to also sign him.
A review of Troy from caainsider.com from an AAU tourney in May:
Troy Daniels (2009, 6-3 SG)
This guard showed he can really shoot it from the outside. Troy hit a step back jumper. He hit another jumper and a couple three pointers. He banked home one too. Troy possesses a very smooth stroke. He showed a nice handle. He hit a runner in the lane as well. Troy played very well for the Raptors

Virginia shooter emerged in summer
By Justin Young, Rivals.com Basketball Recruiting Senior Writer Aug 7, 12:41 pm EDT
When it comes to shooting the basketball, Troy Daniels made sure people knew he was one of the best from behind the arc in July. The 6-foot-3, 185-pound shooting guard from William Fleming High School in Roanoke, Virginia shot his way onto the radars of several schools this summer.
He led the Tournament of Champions in May in made three-pointers. At the Peach State Summer Showcase, he was automatic from deep. In Las Vegas, his hand rivaled the desert air on the hotness level. Daniels said he relies on his shot but also doesn’t want to be deemed a shooter and shooter only.
“Shooting is a big part of my game,” Daniels said. “That’s what people know me by. I rely on that in my game but at the same time I don’t want to be one-dimensional. Coaches don’t like players that are one dimensional. That’s why I worked on other parts of my game in July. But I’ll be honest, my shot, that’s my kill shot. I love to shoot the ball and that’s what I do the best.”
Daniels emerged as one of the top sleepers on the East Coast and saw his recruitment take off. As of the first week of August, Daniels said Wake Forest, Kentucky, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Marquette, Cincinnati, Coastal Carolina (offer) and Radford (offer) are interested.
“There are just a lot of really good schools starting to show me some interest,” Daniels said. “I heard Marquette and Cincinnati want to offer me so I’m going to send my transcript up there. I’m looking at visiting Cincinnati and hopefully Marquette but definitely Cincinnati. I don’t know when but I want to get up there.
“I like their programs. I see them a lot on television. Their basketball programs have great prestige and they are very good with their academics. They do a good job with their athletes. I want to see how it is there with their college life.”
With school starting Sept. 4, Daniels doesn’t have any dates set up yet for any visits. The fall evaluation period will also be an important time for his recruitment, too. Daniels said he’s looking at all options, even outside of college.
“I’m thinking about going prep to Hargrave after my senior year, too, just to help get my scores up and help me get stronger and more discipline,” Daniels said. “I want to stay neutral right now and I really don’t know what direction I’ll go.”
At the moment, Daniels isn’t locking himself into any particular situation. Whether it is college next fall or prep, the three-star guard said he is hoping to take full advantage of the recruiting process.
“The bottom line is I want to graduate and get my degree but also play basketball at the same time. That’s the reason why I play,” Daniels, a solid student, said.
