according to greenbergs email, we recieved a new recruit over the weekend but he cant announce who it is yet. hopefully we find out soon, ill search around just incase its slipped out somewhere. im curious if its another one for 08 or if this is the 1st 09 recruit. edit: after googling a bit, it seems like he is talking about 6-foot-8 Lazar Trifunovic from Binghamton. "Lazar Trifunovic 6-foot-8 PF (Binghamton) - This starter averaged 14 points and seven rebounds for the Bearcats as a sophomore. But the coaching change didn't fit for him. He has already made his future college choice and is headed to Radford to be united with Ali Ton, who recruited him to Binghamton." www.cstv.com/sports/m-baskbl/stories/041108aan.htmlsounds like another good one, but since he is a transfer, he will have to sit out a year. ill keep looking and see if i find anything else on the guy

just buy reading around, it sounds like he was the best player on the binghamton squad when he was there. and the #1 reason that he came to RU was assistant coach Ali Ton. He wanted to go somewhere where he knew somebody. as long as he keeps up his 14 pts a game, i think he will be a great contributor.
Lots of high praises on one binghamton message board for Ton, wishing he stayed there. he must have a lot of international connections because we are reeling them in....australia, france, serbia, and belarus so far.

speak of the devil.....http://ruhighlanders.com/news/news_detail.php?news_id=2205
one question though, at the end it says "Trifunovic is the first signee of the spring for Greenberg. He joins Artsiom Parakhouski and Aaron Austin to round out this year’s recruiting class at Radford. "
no mention of Masse Doumbe? did he not sign?

question, so lazar is sitting out this year, does that count against his elgibility? does he only have 1 year remaining, or is this year similar to a redshirt year?

Pretty sure he will be playing next year as a junior so we will have him for two. Next years squad is going to be scary talented as long as someone can step up at SG

i dont even want to get ahead of myself about next year haha.....our lineup will be NICE. think about how much height we will have........besides amir at pg, well have 6-5 McEachin at the 2, 6-8 Lazar at the 3, 6-8 Joey at the 4, 6'11 Big Art at the 5 with 6-7 tommy spags and 6-6 philip martin coming off the bench....i think that might be a huge advantage in the big south.

Don't forget about the 3 guards that are coming in...hell if one of them can contribute right away that will be huge

What position did Laz play at Bingamton? I'm hoping he has enough agility to play the 3...

He will be eligible to play for next season with two years of eligibility remaining.
And yeah next year we will be the favorites to win it all. But don't tell that to Kenny Thomas, Eric Hall and Jamar Jenkins who are seniors and want to dance this year.
Next year coach will have the option of plugging McWorld at the 2, although he's pwning mad heads as the hybrid 2-3 position. This Faulkner kid sounds like a real get (not just from the clippings but from other people I have talked to that have heard of him) and who knows maybe he can step in right away. You would think Lazar would get a long long long look (he is a good ballplayer), but P-Mart has done all the right things to hold down his starting position. It's fun to look ahead, but it's a long way from here.
Right now you have to love the way this team is playing, minus the VMI slip up.
