Well, my enthusiasm is through the roof after that press conference. What an impressive person. What a great story, with all the coaches in the audience, his deep roots in the program, coming home to his family. I'm just blown away. Not just the best sports story in a long time, but one of the best stories about anything in a long time

He’s a great guy. Use to play pick up with him after he graduated from WVU and I think he’ll bring in some really good kids once he gets going.

I can’t believe he didn’t play here during the prestigious Byron Samuels era!
But I can give anyone a pass on bypassing that 🤣. A young and relatively unproven coach, but a lot of potential there. It will no doubt be hard to replicate the success and the things that Coach Jones did. That being said, we never got any better than a play in seed in the NCAA. A young coach with a high ceiling who is returning home could be a good combination to surpass that. Looking forward to the future and I hope Coach Jones does well at Greensboro. He was really great here. We beat several programs that seemed like a pipe dream at one time.

I looked up this gem today: www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/boxscore/_/gameId/273532515Nichols dropped 23 points as a player at Dedmon and led all scores! Definitely a town favorite for sure! We had a couple solid guys on that roster in Joey Lynch-Flor, Amir Johnson, and Kenny Thomas. All 3 of those guys went on to be part of the 2009 championship team with Art Parakhouski.

Eric Hall and Chris Mceachin were key to the 09 championship as well. And Mceachin started for Norfolk St when they beat a #2 seed in the NCAA.
From what I remember about the WVU game is we had a pretty big lead very early. Like 7-0 and it quickly fell apart.
