Interesting decision by Fahmir. He pretty much had the keys to the team for the next four years. Pretty disappointing. His vision and no-look passes were great, and the way he fed Big Lew and Shaq down low will be missed this next four years. He kept us in some games down the stretch that would have been worse if he didn't hit the clutch shot or dish out the clutch assist.

Wow! That's really disappointing that 2 years in a row we've lost arguably our best player to the transfer portal. I wonder where Ali ends up. He had such a bright future with us! Moses is interesting. He was great for a spark off the bench and an extra jolt of 5-8 points right when we needed it, but I feel like he lacked a regular spot in the rotation and with so many players expected to be back, I think he's hoping he can go somewhere where he can have a bigger impact. Kobe Tingey, I wish him well, but he only saw six games all season and was used sparingly in mop-up duty so, I hope he finds a place where he has the best chance to be successful.

There will be more going into the portal and it is very unfortunate as well.

There will be more going into the portal and it is very unfortunate as well. What I don’t understand....especially if there are more coming....why are so many names choosing to go in the portal after and unexpectedly successful season and a 2nd place finish? Seems like we’d be heavy favorites to make a run at the conference title next year? It just doesn’t make a whole lot of sense.

Wow! Six total transfers plus 2 graduates! I feel like our roster just got gutted. This is just heart breaking for a roster that had so much potential! Hopefully the reason of why this is happening comes to life sooner or later.

I wonder if this means Coach is going to Marquette with Smart.

I remember Buckingham as a high schooler. Had UVA and Tech offers.
But all of these transfers leaving is very odd and not usual of a Jones team. Only obvious thing is he’s leaving and they know it. But if that’s not the case, it would be interesting to know what’s going on.

Ok, well this makes a lot more sense now. Thanks for posting the article. Now I'm guessing that Moses is leaving because his already scanty minutes would be obliterated with Buckingham on the roster. Jeffers, I get, too. He was getting way fewer minutes than his talents merited, and they would probably also diminish. Tigney hardly saw the floor.
I did notice that in the huddle at the end of the second Presbyterian game, Fahmir got visibly upset and frustrated when coach drew up the plan to tie it and go to overtime. They decided to give the ball to Q, and to their credit the team executed the play perfectly, leaving him a wide open layup that he missed.
Which brings me to what I see as the head-scratcher now. I can't imagine Q is going to have as good a chance to shine anywhere else at the same level. Maybe he wants to check out another environment besides the little town he grew up in. Maybe he wants to go down a level and break a bunch of school records.
