i really like this women's team and what coach porter has done for the university. the lady highs open at rival virginia tech on friday night. hopefully they can start the season on a good note ... RADFORD, Va. – Freshman Davida Dodson (Silver Spring, Md.) (pictured) led a quartet of Highlanders in double figures, helping Radford to a 71-53 victory over Lenoir-Rhyne in an exhibition game from the Dedmon Center. In her RU debut, Dodson tossed in a game-tying high 17 points on 6-of-8 shooting, including 4-of-6 from three-point land. Radford broke open a tight game in the first half with an 18-2 run over the end of the first and the beginning of the second period to pull away from a tough Bear squad this evening.
Joining Dodson in double figures were senior Sarah Stephens (Hampton, Va.) and junior Kelli Darden (Chesapeake, Va.) with 13 points and sophomore Johnette Walker (Columbia, S.C.) with 10.
