We took care of business, 81-71.
And Winthrop lost to Gardner Webb, 74-70. 1st place tie (well 0.5 games behind since Winthrop has played 1 more conference game than us).

A lot of things to talk about this one!
But we came out with a win.

Was the suspension warranted? I kinda think it was BS that coach Jones got a suspension for something that didn’t get an ejection. We’re in the middle of conference play as well as trying to keep Coach around as long as possible. IMO that was weak. Unless there is more to the story 🤷🏻♂️

Unless there is more to the story 🤷🏻♂️ I have a feeling there's more to the story here than we know. The only thing reports seem to say is a "shouting match at id court where both coaches had to be restrained by their assistants". I have to wonder what was said though if Radford felt the need to suspend Mike Jones, but Pat Kelsey didn't get anything from Winthrop. Travis Fields also got a tech, but as did Burns for Winthrop, but neither received discipline. I think we also have to remember that after the Greenberg era, Radford's made it pretty apparent that they want to play by the book and self imposed sanctions/suspensions is nothing new. The good news, Ron Jirsa coached a good game. And Devin Hutchinson had what might have been the best performance of his career so, there's that. So, no harm done. Jones is back at the helm now.

I’ve looked at the ESPN replay of the game, and it doesn’t show the actual encounter, but afterwards Coach Jones was composed and Kelsey was being restrained, yelling and flailing his arms, and appeared to be losing his mind.. just based on the ESPN video, Kesley appear4d to be the one who lost his composure

Winthrop seems to be reeling a bit right now. If the little research I have done is correct, we would have the tie breaker against them right now. The tie breaker starts with who has the best record against the #3 team and on down. We lost to Asheville and they lost to GW. Right now that would put us on top. We are a half game behind as they have played one more game. Today is a huge one as we go to Campbell.
