Well, we blew out a D-3 team earlier in the week, and make no mistake, that win was significant given the margin of victory and especially how we locked them down 2nd half. But tonight’s game vs GSU will provide a calibration of sorts to measure what our team is really about. The Liberty loss game #1 won’t make sense until we see what liberty does over the next month. We know GSU is a formidable mid major opponent, so tonight’s game will tell us more where we fit among the D1 and mid major teams.

76-73, GSU. Tough loss for a Radford University team that is upper class oriented. Somewhat of a 2nd half collapse, leading by 7 for part of the 2nd half until things started to unwind. We’re probably still experimenting with lineups and players. Should have won-we were most definitely the better team, but let’s stick with the process that Coach Jones has laid out each year. Conference is what really matters. And we are 1.5 months away from that start

Finally got a chance to watch this game. There was a lot of good individual efforts, and things to build on. Going into the season, I knew we were going to miss Ed Polite. He was a great absolver of sins, when he was always there to put back a missed shot, or grab a rebound, but I had thought that with two big men maturing another year, and two more talented ones coming in, we would be able to make up for his absence. That hasn't been the case in the first two games, although, as the season goes on, It could become the case. Like I said, a lot of good things to take comfort in, but with this large a rotation, it's going to take some experimentation before things smooth out.
