By my count, that puts us at 14 scholarships. None of our guys are on the transfer list, so I assume everyone is staying. Could it be that Miles is going to walk-on? I love it that so many guys want to play for us.

Or maybe he goes for free anyway, because his dad is an employee? Boy, wouldn't that be a great way to save a scholarship!

How do transfers count against the scholarship count? I’m thinking they don’t count until the are eligible to play.

I have always assumed they did count, because there are usually 13 players on scholarship, whether some are sitting out a year or not. I am by no means an authority, however, and could be totally mistaken. How do transfers count against the scholarship count? I’m thinking they don’t count until the are eligible to play.

This seems to be our new strategy for finding big men......Find experienced players who want to transfer. It worked out okay with Sallah. And I'm always happy to have some depth for Holland. I'm also excited to see what VCU transfer Lewis Djonkam can do this year! I'm hoping for a Travis Fields situation where he turns out to be a star and key contributor.
