Solid win. 72-62 in OT. Radford controlled the game for the most part, though if you were listening you got frustrated around 10:00 2nd half as Highlander’s lead quickly evaporated due to turnovers. Ed Polite Jr. dominated late and during OT. I remember not too long ago when we gave up leads late and couldn’t close. We closed strong during this OT against a solid mid major team. Great win to end non conference play and prepare us for conference play next week. This is a special team. We’re a little inconsistent at times, but overall this is the best we’ve played non conference during the Mike Jones era. This will be a fun season.

2-2 on that trip is a win IMO. Nevada was a probable loss and 2/3 out of the rest of the games is not bad. None of these teams were terrible and will be better than a lot of what we will see in the Big South. UC Davis was a good win. I think what separates this team from teams of the past is the depth. We have had some good players on some of Jones' other teams, but when they get in foul trouble or are having an off night, it made it hard to win. This should be our best conference season of the Jones era.
I don't think we had any "bad" losses out of conference. We lost 6 and three of those are to teams who are projected to make the tourney as at larges or are on the bubble. We didn't play great against Tech but none of these were ugly. It would have been nice to get one of those wins, but we need to dominate conference play and get that win in the tourney. We beat teams from bigger conferences and competed very well against the P5.

Agree....7-6 is a great way to end the non-conference....According to ESPN projections..We won all the games we were supposed to win...And won 2 we weren't supposed to win...ECU and UC Davis. So, that's pretty huge! I agree that this team is a lot deeper than previous years. It takes some pressure off Polite knowing he doesn't have to be the guy every single night. Carlik Jones has been a nice surprise this year! I'd like to see Randy Phillips become more of a factor against the smaller Big South teams. He's shown the ability to play big against Nevada and Ohio State so, I think we'll see more from him as the season goes on.

Just saw where our RPI is 96. Wonder where it would be if we’d also beat Elon and SFU, both winnable games? I guess no need to play coulda woulda shoulda. We are in a great position entering conference play. We are in a great position entering conference play. We currently have the best RPI of any Big South Team.

But technically not games where we were the favorite. None the less, a solid non conference season. I’ll be interested to see what we do against Winthrop!
