Apparently there will be an announcement today saying Coastal Carolina will be leaving the Big South conference and join the Sun Belt as their 12th member. They will be joining in all sports except football in 2016. Football will be a FBS team in 2017. CC beat out Eastern Kentucky for the last spot in the conference, mostly because of their location and access to "large sums of money."

Yep, saw that. Losing Coastal is huge. If we continue to perform well, it's not going to benefit us to stay in the Big South. We will have to make a push for the CAA or Southern.

Going to be tough to get into the SoCon without football.. That's just not going to happen & would be a lateral jump for the sports that Radford does play, the SoCon is not a step up IMHO. CAA is a different story...

CAA might be the next best move, but they'd have to accept us without football. Always a possibility, but I think we need to win our conference first.

This really hurts baseball the most. It's the sport the BSC is most relevant in, and CCU has been the major reason for that. I'd like to see RU, UNCA, and Winthrop all move together if any of us do move.

And they are gone! With a National Championship and new Under Armour deal, they will become a great mid-major program.
