We are now ranked in three of the five major baseball polls and for the life of me, I don't know what the other two can be thinking in not having us ranked, yet. 36-14 currently, in one of the top baseball conferences in the country. We are in the "others receiving votes" in those two polls, but D1baseball.com has us at 23 (up from 25 last week); Baseball America has us at 24; and Collegiate Baseball has us at 30. Our RPI is now 17 (from 20 last week).

I'm *guessing* this is the highest ranked Radford team in any sport since we went D1 in the 80's? The other Radford team that might have come close to a national ranking was the 2011 women's softball who won two games in their region including beating Florida State in the tourney?

This is by far the best in school history! We're easily looking at a 2 seed in the tournament!

Roanoke Gazette (intentional) is the same ol' third rate paper I was used to reading when I was in school. No love for the Highs and I noticed in last Sunday's coverage, they buried the baseball writeup below Tech woman's lacrosse, some D-III scores, a game of intramural tag...okay, I exaggerate. But when they did finally show the score, they said RU beat UNC Asheville Buccaneers. Not kidding. We played Charleston Southern and they are the Buccaneers. What a rag.
Not sure if you saw Berman's article on the Highs team a couple weeks ago, but as is typical Berman, he would give back handed complements throughout the article, like enjoy this while we can because we don't have the money or facilities to maintain this. Always disliked him as a writer as he never gave RU any respect.

Is the game today in espn tv? Me and a friend are planning to watch it at a bar.
Or is it only available by watching it online through espn3?
Appreciate it if anyone knows.

Tough game, yesterday. I played competitive baseball for over 25 years and yesterday was the first time I ever witnessed a triple play, live...and it had to occur in this venue, against my team... They can come back from this, though. First we need to take care of Lipscomb. It is on ESPN3 at 4:00 Eastern.
Go Highs!!

Wow...!! My son, who is an avid soccer player but has taken a huge interest in our baseball program (as a careful dad, I always look at his Instagram account to make sure all is good...) and I noticed that he has been posting a lot of RU baseball on Instagram for all his followers to see, especially the JMU series where we crushed them the entire series. That was one of those really cool moments that you get about your son where you discover something really special about his love for you and your school that you are not supposed to know. Well, he comes into my office after we beat Lipscomb to get an update, and he says, "what's wrong, Dad?" He sees I'm a little choked up and I say, "We won our first ever post season game, it's all good." He probably thinks I'm losing it, but he will understand later.
What a week. My son and his team won a huge national soccer tournament in PA and now RU baseball...again, what a week.
To be continued...

Alright! We face Indiana again to earn the right to stay alive. Nightmare scenario for Indiana, I would hate to be in their shoes. To have to beat the same team again who has nothing to lose and is bent on revenge. I'm just thrilled to have some highlanders to root for this late in the year!

Hoosier Daddy? RU's your Daddy!!! Awesome game that "Blue" tried to give to Indiana, but the "never say dielanders" kept the foot on the gas!!! Only thing that gets me mad about this is that RU had another run that was called out at home plate when he was clearly safe...cost us at least one more run and an out that shouldn't have been. We also would have had runners in scoring position with only one out, so it could have been a big inning. You probably ask, we still won, so why still upset? If we had a larger lead in the later innings, we wouldn't have had to use Meisinger in the 8th and 9th innings. Not sure what Joe will do with him for the second game. He didn't throw that much, but he still got hot and will be a difficult call if needed tonight against Vandy. Had several close calls go against us, by the way.
