William and Mary up 11 @ Maryland 6 minutes to go in the second half....perhaps we have been too hard on this team?

Great game, only complaint is the turnovers in the first half. Big Art is a monster. Great W Highlanders!

Art couldn't have been better.
Laz did exactly what he had to do. If Art doesn't score 34, he can pick up scoring slack, and if Joey/Art don't both get 10 boards, he can scoop boards.
JLF did a good job, with Laz and Art's skill set, JLF should be third scorer among the big three most nights.
Blake had a couple of dumb turnovers, but his jumper was working... inside the arc. What looked like hesitations outside the arc turned into makes inside the arc. This happened at least twice.
Amir looked pretty terrible early on but did rebound pretty nicely, still didn't see a lot of offense from him, but tonight we didn't need his offense.
J-Rob and Evan combined for solid play. J-Rob seems to be either all there and great, or sometimes just lacking a little bit. Still pretty solid though.
G just seemed... out of it again. Hope he gets his grips soon.

This is what we thought this team would be able to do all year....absolutely dominate down low. Overall, if you have to complain about what we could have done better we would like less than 14 turnovers, would like to have hit a couple of our 3's, and I think we should have pulled the starters when Mason put in their all Freshman line up.....could have gotten Sonmez and Wooten (if he's not redshirting) some quality minutes.
STARTERS
AMIR JOHNSON - GRADE 5 An up and down game....or perhaps I should say a down and up game as he started very poorly and improved from there. Minus the turnovers he did not have a great game defensively. I thought he did a great job of distributing...he was responsible for the pass that led to the assist....it all starts with him on offense and while he only had 5 helpers he certainly was involved in a lot more than that.
BLAKE SMITH GRADE 8 - You can't say enough about what he did to Cam Long who is 1st team CAA. When you hold the opponents best player to 1-12 shooting you have played a great game. He had 1 bad turnover that I remember but did a great job of feeding the post and I want to see us run that alley oop to him a little more often.
LAZ TRIFUNOVIC GRADE 7 - I don't know about the rest of you but this is exactely how I thought he would get used at the SF spot, posting up smaller players. Forget about the wild drives and lay ups....he looked great taking his time and setting up his guy. Still too many turnovers. 16 defensive rebounds shows how hard he was working on the glass.
JLF GRADE 7 - Just another day at the office. 15 points and was attacking the rim for the majority of the night.
Art Parkhouski GRADE 10 - Mason had no answer for him at any point in the game. What I love the most is the made free throws....on nights where he shoots them this well watch out...thats another 8 points give or take that we have been leaving on the floor most nights.
BENCH
EVAN FAULKNER GRADE 6 - Zero turnovers, again. Missed a contested lay up after a great move but other than that another solid effort. Sure would have liked to see the 3's fall but 4 assists in 22 quality minutes.
J Robb GRADE 6 - Looked calm and collected for the most part....should have done better with his 1 v 1 break where he put his head down and was determined to take it to the hole when he probably should have made the pass to (I believe) a trailing JLF.
Sonmez Grade 2 - There is no confidence in his game right now but there were a couple flashes that show you he can play....He just has to settle down. I'm hoping in some of our coming blow out BS wins we can get him into the flow a little bit more and not have to give him the hook after his first missed 3.
