104-67. Not so bad. Amir and Joey had bad offensive days. Everything else wasn't too bad. Overall shooting wasn't good at 36%.
Duke shooting 52% from three, what can you do.

Lots of positives to take out of that game, lots to work on as well. Coastal's "vastly superior" defense held duke to 6-23 on 3's for 26%.

yeah, give them a similar shooting percentage for our game, and it's high drama at Cameron Indoor.

high praise from the duke message boards and postgame from coach k about art and our squad.
Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski On Artsiom Parakhouski’s and Radford’s performance: We played really well. I thought Radford played well. They came out and hit every shot. They are really good. That kid [Artsiom Parakhouski] is good. He will be a first round pick, easy, in the NBA. He is two inches taller than Miles [Plumlee]. I don’t know what they list him at, but he is close to seven feet. He has to be 265 or 270. He would play for anybody in our league. He is a very good basketball player. He reminded me of the Olympics. You don’t know some people, and you say, oh, he is really good. That kid…I know he has played a year in the conference. He is better in person than he is on tape. He has a great feel for the game. I was watching him warm-ups. He has good touch. Obviously, if you run into him, he doesn’t even know it. He is very good. [Joey] Lynch-Flohr is very good too. I know they have one kid who is out, when they get him, they are going to be very good. This is the first game [Amir] Johnson played. He is a veteran point guard. He didn’t shoot well, I think our guys did a good job, but he will be solid.
despite the blow out, i think the experience we gained today was good. the person who has impressed me most this season has to be phillip martin, he has really improved. hes tried to dunk on folks like 3 or 4 times this year haha. he has played aggressive and smart, hopefully his jumpers start to fall soon.
art seems like he is forcing & rushing a lot of his shots and he missed a lot of layups. but other than that he had another solid game, dukes post players couldnt handle him at all.
after joey got into foul trouble he seemed frustrated the rest of the game and could never get into a groove. im sure he will turn it around vs duquesne though.
blake has been solid all 3 games, its scary to think how much better he will get through out the season.
im still waiting for evan to get it going offensively, hes giving us good minutes, hopefully he gains some confidence in his shot.
i really like jamal currys hustle, effort, and enthusiasm. he just isnt ready yet physically. that redshirt year really wouldve helped him.

OK.....Time for me to grade individual performances
STARTERS
PG AMIR JOHNSON GRADE 4: 1st game back and at times it showed. A very poor shooting performance from a guy who must make looks from outside to keep defenses honest. I'll chalk this one up to rust and expect a big game in his home town next week.
SG BLAKE SMITH GRADE 5: Came out firing and played great defense and then I don't remember hearing his name again. Duke probably made some adjustments against him.
SF PHILLIP MARTIN GRADE 6: Did a little bit of everything. Foul trouble hurt him in the first half and came up with some very much needed points in the second half on some great post moves. Phillip might be our most improved player from a year ago.
PF JOEY LYNCH-FLOHR GRADE 4: An off night from a guy we expect so much from. A couple weak foul calls but doesn't it seem like he gets a lot of these? Didn't shoot well and I don't think he had a good game defensively as well. Showed good range at times but is that his game?
C ART PARAKHOUSKI GRADE 7: Hello NBA scouts. All over the boards and I'm pretty sure he played the whole game up until 2 and a half minutes left. He was double teamed routinely and it didn't matter as he had some very strong buckets. He could have done better on a couple passes out of the double teams to get better looks for his team.
BENCH
EVAN FAULKNER GRADE 3: Missed 3's and other than that I don't remember a whole lot from him. Those shots will come and we know he can make them...he just needs to do it in a game. Now that I think about it there were a couple good defensive plays.
JEREMY ROBINSON GRADE 3: Played out of control causing turnovers. Caused senseless fouls on defense. I remember 1 hack in particular after he thought he drew a charge. I like when he takes it to the hole be he seems out of control. Made several strong takes but I want more leadership on the court.
JAMAL CURRY GRADE 4: Hustled his a$$ off again. His body is not ready and was pushed out of the way for some easy Duke put backs. I love this kids potential down the road.
COLE WILDER GRADE N/A: Not enough time for Cole to get a rating.

Despite some bad luck w/ the Laz injury, Amir sitting 2 and Gorkem having to sit I like how our schedule is playing out. Duke could have beaten most teams Saturday the way their outside shots were falling.
The game we have the best shot at the upset is L'ville. Good that we play them in our 11th game when we'll have everyone back with some games played together. Had we played L'ville then Duke then Kansas then that'd really have sucked.
Winning one of the three "golden" games would be great but winning against Mason, W&M, Duquesne and JMU goes a long way come tourney seeding time. I'm confident we'll improve on the 3 bsc losses of last year.

Nice pics hoops. Love the one's of Art taking a jumper on the baseline.
Looks like Blake sat the last 10 minutes of the game for some reason.
