Any idea if Dante Carter is going D1? Any chance for RU to sign him?

Wow, that's soon. How many vacant scholly's do we have? I believe 3 open schollies...spags, jamal, evan rj and darden took the 1 open scholly we had from last year (laz) and jeremy's who graduated. im kind of hoping at least 2 of those are JuCo's

heres a JuCo we missed on to UNC Asheville www.americanchronicle.com/articles/yb/158942536"Atkinson, who plans to major in health and wellness, said he was also offered by Radford University with Charleston Southern University also showing extreme interest in him as well as N.C. A&T State University." this is like the fourth article ive read this year where weve been in the final two or three and get snubbed, sounds like we arent closing very well.

In fairness to this basketball administration, and I have been known to be very critical at times, this guy (Atkinson) doesn't appear to have a great basketball pedigree and maybe we didn't want him. I'm not thrilled beating out schools like NC A&T, Chuck South, or Barton (D-2) to which he gave a verbal commitment to just to give out a scholarship. We need to beat out the George Masons, James Madisons, and Dukes (okay, maybe a slight reach--but shooting high). On another note, you should take a few minutes to read my good friend Mike Ashley's two articles in this weeks Play-By-Play magazine. One is on Brett Mollenhauer of RU Baseball (as well as the program itself), and one of the best tributes I've read in a long time, to Tommy Walthall of RU Basketball who passed away a couple of weeks ago. CLICK HERE FOR MAY'S PLAY-BY-PLAY MAGAZINE www.playbyplayonline.net/files/PbP050911Web_1_.pdfWell written, Mike.

finally heres some good news weblogs.dailypress.com/sports/highschool/peninsulablog/2011/05/despite_brad_greenbergs_situat.htmlDespite Brad Greenberg's situation, Brian Darden remains sold on RadfordNothing is forever, of course, which is especially true when it comes to a coach’s job security. When Phoebus’ Brian Darden signed with Radford University in the fall, the Highlanders had gone 40-24 over the past two seasons, which included the program’s second NCAA tournament appearance. But after a dreadful 5-24 finish in 2010-11, the Highlanders reportedly will be cutting ties with head coach Brad Greenberg, perhaps by the end of the week. Which leaves Darden (and guard R.J. Price of Mechanicsville, RU’s other fall signee) wondering who they’ll be playing for. “It’s kind of surprising it would happen like that,” Darden said. “But I’m not planning on making a change. I’m not looking anywhere else. I’m only looking at going to Radford and having a great career there.” Darden said assistant Cedric Smith, who recruited him, spoke with his parents by telephone. He’s hoping to speak with someone at Radford himself. Darden said his recovery from knee surgery to repair a torn ACL is going “extremely well.” He said the healing has been “very rapid” and he expects to be ready for pre-season practice in October.
