Need to bring the same intensity and focus we had Tuesday night. As always limit turnovers and sink our free throws. Lets get this done RU!

I think guard play will be crucial....last time out against UNCA McWorld struggled a little w/ his shot. If our guards play like they did Tuesday we win by 20. Amir and Kenny have been playing well down the stretch, coupled with our post play makes us a VERY dangerous team!

exactly, big art needs to bring the same intensity and focus he had last game, ive never seen him so pumped. weve got to hit our free throws, take care of the ball, and BE PATIENT on offense like we were last game.

Ashville is young as sh!t. They have 8 freshman, 5 sophomores, 3 juniors, and 1 senior (The 8'1 center who basically doesn't have a foot now was their other senior but hasn't played in 1 game this year). We swept the series this year between them but niether was an easy W. The first match-up was at the Terror Dome where Radford took control early until getting smoked in the 2nd half which forced overtime. RU outscored them by 10 in overtime for the W. Big Art fouled out and only had 15 and 8. The second match-up was at the barn UNC calls a gym where Amir got a lay-up with 1 second left in regulation to give us a 1 point win. Big Art dropped 15 and 14. The difference in the two games was the fouls in both games. The game at Radford had 46 fouls called and at UNC only 21. The bottom line is we have to stop Reid Augst. We limit him RU wins by double digits and we are 1 game away from dancing.
Radford 81 UNC Ashville 73

Guys,
Actually, the first game was played in Peters, so the young guys haven't seen the Dedmon Center yet. That game was also one of the worst officiated games I've ever seen. That shouldn't be a problem tonight. So, third game, third different venue.
Offensively, you all hit the right notes: execute, don't turn it over, pound it inside, hit free throws. But the real key tonight will be the Highlander defense. Against High Point, it was terrific, but UNCA, while young, is loaded with shooters. And they hurt RU from the arc in the two previous games. I think you'll see the Highs in a tight man most of the game, much like v HPU.
It all starts at the defensive end. Defend like they did Tuesday!
I sincerely hope you all enjoy the game tonight...

Klep, yeah he meant to say home.
A lot of us listened in to the first game @ Peters and it sounded like the refs were giving the game away.
I love the 1-3-1, but I agree, it's a good match-up to go man b/c of the Dogs threat of permiter shooting.

I was looking at UNCA roster and they have a guy thats 7 foot 7 inches tall? Is this the 8 foot 1 guy that outsidedaoffense was referring to? Does he play at all? I looked at some of their stats and he isnt listed. 7 foot 7? Where do they grow people like that?

Yeah thats Kenny George and his basketball career appears to be over unfortunately as he had part of his foot amputated earlier this year. He hasn't played all year and is another reason why UNCA playing as well as they have this year is a bit of surprise as a lot of his offense ran through his ability to just flush it home under the rim...
