wow, just the New Yorkers then, okay. It's been painful with all the fouls, seems like the refs want the game to be all about themselves.

Damn, 3 chances there at the end. Another 1st half lead and a 2nd half collapse versus a team we should have beat

Wow, they hammer JLF at the end and no foul, after a game full of phantom fouls. The ref's run off the court, being chased by Coach. Amazing. Sounds like RU was the better team again. We have to start hitting more free throws, and limiting turnovers.

OK just got home from the game and I'm f**king pissed.
Please note I write this up without seeing a box score yet...
Radford is a team starting 3 juniors and 2 seniors. Four of which have seen minutes since they were freshmen and Big Art saw plenty of time in JoCo. Now if I didn't tell you that you would have no f**king clue because all this team does is make stupid f**king decisions on both ends of the floor.
1. Early on RU made a concerted effort to get the ball in low to their big men which drew IMMEDIATE double teams. I cannot count how many turnovers this caused the Highs but its as if we had no clue they were going to double our bigs and had no idea what to do when it happened.
2. Amir Johnsons inability to run this team. Their were times were you had 4 guys sprinting up the floor and Amir walking it up. This happened more than once and I'm going to assume the 4 new what was going on and the 1 didn't. Also if I see one more inbounds pass directly to the other team from Amir I'm going to loose my f**king mind.
3. Big Art. He can play but again committed stupid turnovers and conditioning is a MAJOR issue. After 3 minutes he is begging to come out of the game. His minutes need to be monitored much more closely...he sat for what seemed to be an eternity in the second half.
4. JLF. Stupid stupid fouls not one of which tonight could be considered a "good" foul.
5. MM. This ef'ing guy. In the second half Navy has a clear break away lay up (I Don't think anyone on their team can dunk) and he makes an attempt to shove the Navy player as he's up in the air not even going after the ball. We lucked out that this wasn't called intentional as the refs were calling it VERY tight all night long.
6. Phillip Martin - This guy sucks. In the first half he literally had the ball ripped from his hands THREE TIMES. THREE. What are you doing cut your f**king hair.
6. KT. Stupid fouls and more I'll get into under coaching...
Coaching - Coach G blew it in the second half. Radford up 5 with only a couple of minutes left. SLOW THE GAME DOWN AND LIMIT POSSESSIONS! Kenny Thomas looked like there was only seconds left on the clock as he chucked up a 3 ball air ball with 25 seconds on the shot clock. Next time down the floor and Amir throws up a brick again with plenty of time left on the shot clock...We gave the game back to them.
I'm so angry...Radford clearly had more skill and just loves to shoot themselves in the foot.

Wow, thanks for the in-person observations. Sounds like things are worse than I'd hoped. I guess I got caught up in the hype and had the rose-colored glasses on AGAIN. I still really hope you just caught them on a lousy night and it will be the last one of those they have this year. I'll gladly trade it all to get these four in a row and a win at Wake Forest, although after seeing Wake play last night, that would be a tall order for any NCAA team.
Regarding Big Art's conditioning, I did think it was strange what a big deal was made of him after I saw some write up of his team that mentioned his minutes played; it just didn't jive. Now I wonder if it's because he just wasn't able to be on the floor more. He should hang out with JLF during the summer, I think I remember Greenberg saying he runs a 5:11 mile, at 6'8", that's double tough.
I'm a bit suspicious of the optimism surrounding the recruiting class. They all look like great kids and team players, and maybe that's what we need, but not one of them has a single star on rivals. I'm not convinced we can hang with Winthrop and Liberty unless they are really underrated (which is my hope) or are able to really gel on the court (which I really really hope). I don't want to get beat up by Liberty twice (or three times) a year for the foreseeable future. But I guess to get the star kids we need to build up a bit of a resume first and put some fans in the seats and I think Greenberg is the guy to do it, we got lucky when we got him.
I haven't seen the team play, so my opinion is even more irrelevant than if I had, but I'd still like to see them try a starting frontcourt of Hall, JLF, and Big Art. I'm probably too hung up on size, but especially if Austin comes along quickly, that height in the frontcourt, plus a 6'3" point guard, man, we'd have a size that's out of our league. It couldn't hurt the double teaming situation of Big Art either, and may slow the tempo down a bit for him, let him stay in the game more.
I think we're headed in the right direction, and I'm overly excited about it of course, but it's going to take time. Other teams in the league are getting better and it's going to get fun to watch. Like the rest of you I'd love to see them get rid of those bleacher seats in the DC, but maybe that will take a few years too. Looks like I have to get access to MASN somehow. My ridiculous AT&T fiber optic cable plan gives me what seems like every sports channel except that one, D'oh!!!!!!!
